The Most Sensible "Diet" Book Ever

I thought this was a great book and am now listening to it for a second time. I have a read a great many "diet" books and food health books and I like the thoughtful manner in which the material is presented in this extrememly wholistic view of "dieting". I put diet in quotes because it is not a traditional diet book. It is more of a philosophical book about health, nutrition and exercise and is a LIFE PLAN, not a short term help to let you lose a few pounds. It presents obstacles to weight loss and health and presents very sound principles for success. Well worth the download.

A Smart and Sensible Plan!

I like this program because it's straightforward and makes sense. Plus it's not a diet, but a well-rounded approach to thinking right, eating healthy, and exercising - and it's reasonable and achievable. No gimmicks. I especially liked how he explains why popular diets don't work, but also details the parts of them that can be useful. He treats you like a smart person, instead of a sheep following some new fad. Based on his many years as a trainer, he understands how food is best used to fuel the body. All in all, good stuff - and I like that the audiobook has exercise and other info pages you can see on your computer, too.

Best Diet and exercise book I have ever read

As a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor of 12 years, I have encountered many diet/exercise books and programs. Most of them are filled with bogus ideas, false claims, and scientifically unsound advice. Not this one. This book is no-bull, to the point, and an easy read/listen. The author does a great job of poking holes in the "get fit quick" schemes and diets that have unfortunately flooded the market. I have recommended it as a must read for all of my clients and students. This book is filled with reliable information and the truth about achieveing the body and health you desire. No gimmicks or overnight success stories... just the truth.

No Nonsense, No Hype, Straight Answers

I own the Body Fat Solution for the Kindle and the audio version. I also own Tom's eBook, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. The Body Fat Solution (BFS) is, in my opinion, the book to get if you want to not just lose weight, but transform your body. Tom gives straight answers to weight loss questions, not hype or fad diet information. I've lost over 35 lbs of fat without losing lean body mass by following the suggestions in his programs. Make no mistake, this is *not* a diet plan! This is a lifestyle guide for losing fat, maintaining lean body mass, achieving your goals and maintaining them for a lifetime. If I had the knowledge in this book years ago, I might have not gained weight like I did. One of the best things about BFS, is that it is a holistic answer to the question of excess body fat, not just a diet or exercise program. Tom acknowledges that there is much more to weight loss than just following an eating and exercise plan. The mental and emotional component is just as, or more important. The first part of the book is dedicated to these foundational components of a successful fat loss program. Tom is a master goal-setter and shares his advice on how to identify and set realistic, but challenging goals. If you want to lose fat and get fit, once and for all, read this book.
